Gresec is a multidisciplinary research laboratory in information and communication sciences whose primary focus is on tracking the emergence of modern communication tools as they evolve and become embedded in society in ways that are complex, unpredictable, and even contradictory. This focus takes into account changes occurring in social and cultural mediation—whether in the forms these take (which are increasingly commercial and even industrial) or in the multimodal, interactive, and “meaning-making” components of the systems offered to consumer-users.
