Research Topics

The Laboratory of Fundamental and Applied Bioenergetics (LBFA) has developed unique expertise in metabolic research over the course of its nearly 25 years of existence, with key areas of expertise in energy homeostasis and mitochondrial function in health and disease. Our projects range from basic research (kinases in energy signaling, cell death) to applied research (preventive or curative strategies in human health and disease). We therefore take an integrative and systems-based approach, spanning from the molecular to the clinical level.
